Eager to end 2025 on a high? Escape to Cockatoo Island and spend New Year’s Eve in the heart of Sydney Harbour! As either a camper or guest in one of the island’s holiday houses or apartments, you’ll spend the biggest night of the year close to the action but far from the crowds!

- Due to capacity limits and reduced ferry services, access to the island on 31 December will be restricted to NYE 2025 accommodation guests.

Getting here
- The easiest way to get to Cockatoo Island is by public ferry.
- On 31 December public ferries normally stop running around 5pm (and sometimes earlier) on NYE, due to harbour exclusion zones.
- Ferries will not stop at Woolwich from around 11am. Check the latest timetable information by visiting transportnsw.info.
Leaving the event
- Ferry services resume on 1 January 2026, with the first departure at 7:19am.
- Pedestrian diversions will be in place on New Year’s Eve. The way you leave may be different to how you arrived. Be prepared for a longer walk to transport hubs.
